From pill bottle to reminder
- Scan the label or add it yourselfOpen Records, choose Meds, and tap +. Choose Scan Label to photograph the bottle, or Add Manually to type it in.
- Details filled in for youA label scan fills in what it can read: name, strength, form, directions, quantity, refills, prescriber, pharmacy and Rx number. Check and edit them, then save. The label photo is kept with the medication.
- Set what you actually takeEnter your AM and PM doses, like "2 tablets" in the morning and "1 tablet" at night, plus start and end dates and notes.
- Get remindersTurn on reminders, add one or more times, and pick the days. Once you allow notifications, they arrive even when the app is closed.
Stored on your iPhone
Your medication list is saved on your iPhone, and there is no account to create. Label scanning uses AI, so VitaVault asks for your consent before any label photo is sent through our server to Anthropic Claude, with Google Gemini as a backup. We don't keep your health data. Prefer not to use AI? Decline, and add medications by hand instead.

Can VitaVault read my pill bottle label?
Yes. Choose Scan Label, then Take Photo or Choose from Library. With your consent, the photo is sent through our server to Anthropic Claude, with Google Gemini as a backup, and the details it can read (name, strength, form, directions, quantity, refills, prescriber, pharmacy and Rx number) are filled in for you to check and edit before you save.
Can I add medications without scanning?
Yes. Choose Add Manually and type in whatever you know. Only the name is required. You can add supplements and vitamins the same way.
How do medication reminders work?
Turn on reminders for a medication, add one or more times, and pick the days of the week. Once you allow notifications, VitaVault schedules them on your iPhone, so they arrive even when the app is closed.
Can I share my medication list with my doctor?
Yes, with Premium. Doctor Visit Prep makes a PDF report that lists your medications with strength, form and the AM and PM doses you entered, along with recent lab results, and you can share it from the app.
Is my medication list sent anywhere?
Your medication list is stored on your iPhone, and no account is needed. Before a label photo is sent, VitaVault asks for your consent, then sends the photo for that one scan. We don't keep your health data. If you decline, nothing is sent and you can add the medication by hand.
How much does it cost?
VitaVault is free to download and includes 10 AI queries in your first month. Premium is a one-time $4.99 purchase with 6 months of AI Insights included (50 a month, resets monthly). AI Insights is also available on its own for $2.99 a month.
